Bhutan Nyinzer Expeditions was set up to present the best of Bhutan to its well-wishers. The reason why we call ourselves 'Nyinzer' that in the local dialect means "light that cut through darkness created by ones ignorance".

To facilitate our mandate, we have a team of dedicated professionals who will take care of all your travel needs. Since the main reason for your trip to Bhutan would be to experience a different life here, with our local knowledge, we will help you unravel the mysteries of Bhutan and in the process, help you find a different side of you. Since we are licensed by the TCB (Tourism Council of Bhutan) as a Tour Operator and also a registered member of ABTO (Association of Bhutanese Tour Operator) and ASTA (American Society of Travel Agent), you can count on us to be accountable to you if ever the need arises. Bhutan Nyinzer Expeditions was founded by Tashi Dorji, an alumni of Columbia University in the city of New York. After completing his Masters in International Affairs from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia, he started his career in Tourism business. In 2013 with his interest in serving the nation, he chose to run for an elected office. He decided to contest as a Member of Parliament from Wangdue Phodrang district, from one of twenty districts of Bhutan. Currently, he is serving as a full time National Council Member. 



Dawa Pemo took over as the new managing Director of the company in 2013 after Tashi Dorji decided to contest in the election. She has a good communication skills with background in Bachelors in Arts from Sherubtse College in the eastern Bhutan and, with management experiences having worked in numerous organizations before coming to Bhutan Nyinzer Expeditions.

Hotels used by us

We provide you the hotels that are approved by the Tourism Council of Bhutan.

These hotels are clean and well maintained ones with choices of Bhutanese, Indian, Chinese and Continental foods.There are few luxury hotels in Bhutan - Uma, Aman, Taj Tashi and Zhiwaling, which have come up recently and these hotels do no fall under government-classified hotels. They have their own rates and if you wish to stay in any of these hotels, you will have to meet the expenses of these hotels yourself in addition to daily tariff.

Tour guides

The Tourism Council of Bhutan certifies our tour guides and refreshers course are given frequently to update their knowledge and standards.

We provide you licensed Bhutanese tour guides who will introduce you to the many facets of this interesting country. We also have specialized guides who will lead you on bird watching, botany, bicycling and other special tours.


If you are traveling in Bhutan through Bhutan Nyinzer Expeditions, you will be provided with a luxury car.

We use standard cars for our tourist to make sure they feel comfortable and to be safe on the road in Bhutan.
